Our Education Sponsorship ministry operates primarily in and around Siaya County (Kenya), and is expanding to northern Tanzania and south-west Cameroon. Second Chance Tandem and the partners provide sponsorship to support the orphans’ basic and higher education from lower primary school through to higher institutions of learning by offering:
- Full school fees payment to cover boarding or stand-alone-feeding programmes, tuition, practical/projects, and other school-related activities as required by their respective schools, colleges, and learning institutions’ courses.
- Provision of full school uniforms and training equipment supplies based on the learners’ level of study requirement.
- Rewarding pupils and students with very good grades by admission to full boarding schools to enable them to maximise their potential in the tranquil and competitive boarding environments.
The cost per learner varies based on the level and nature of study and the learning institutions. Partners contribute financially and/or materially to support the programme, do not have direct access to the beneficiaries, but receive detailed annual reports of the outcomes of the Education Sponsorship programmes. Second Chance Tandem Managers in the UK visit the regions annually, and are always in contact with the learning institutions and the regional Coordinators who facilitate the operations.
